Meaningful Learning

I really enjoyed looking at the tools that we saw this week that help with assessing student learning. I like the idea of being able to quickly assess and adjust to students' levels of comprehension while in class. This could potentially reduce, by a considerable amount, the time it takes to provide students with the information they need to successfully navigate a course. It also allows a teacher to be sure that students are really learning and understanding, as opposed to simply ingesting information and retaining it long enough to regurgitate it on an exam.

In this class, I've learned that in the classroom, technology can be a real asset to both teachers and students. Different technologies can allow for teachers to engage students in various ways and create a learning environment that is comfortable, familiar and fun for each student. I definitely look forward to the opportunity to implement these tools into my own classroom and make History as exciting for students as it is for me.
